52 countries: Russia resumes flights, plus opens world's longest land border

From April 9, the most massive lifting of restrictions on regular and charter flights from Russia will take place – 52 countries were immediately included in the latest list of the Operational Headquarters for coronavirus. At the same time, as Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized, these are mostly “friendly” countries for which there is some hope for the restoration of mutual tourist flow.

As the prime minister said at a meeting with the United Russia faction, he signed the corresponding document, “which the aviation industry and citizens were waiting for.” “The incidence rate is on the decline, which means it's time to expand the destinations that are available to Russian airlines. Now they can fly without restrictions to 15 countries. Now we are resuming flights with 52 countries, including Argentina, India, China, South Africa and other states friendly to us,” Mikhail Mishustin said.

Here is the full list of open countries:

As you can see, in the list, in addition to the obvious exotic and countries where a normal tourist will not go, there are a lot of “acting” tourist favorites, from Turkey and Egypt, to the Maldives and Seychelles, as well as destinations that unequivocally expressed interest in the Russian tourist market, despite the sanctions – the same Kenya, Tanzania or Venezuela. So there is hope that in this way the market for offers for Russian tourists will still be expanded – as far as air sanctions allow, of course.

In addition, on the same day, Russia will also open its longest land border in the world . That is, on April 9, restrictions on entry and exit through the land section of the Russian border with China will cease to operate. True, in terms of tourism, this will not give any relief yet – China itself still strictly observes “coronavirus” safety.
