Criminal Abkhazia: Russian tourist severely beaten in the center of Gagra

Another criminal scandal involving a Russian tourist took place in Abzazia, which over the past few years has become the protagonist of reports about attacks on tourists. The Sochi State of Emergency Telegram channel published a video clip showing several local men severely beating a young man. As the subscriber who sent the video specified, the case takes place in the center of Gagra in Abkhazia on the night of June 15, and the victim is a Russian tourist.

It is also reported that the sent recording is from surveillance cameras. On the record, several people attack the tourist from behind and start beating him with their hands and feet. As a result, as the authors of the video say, the victim received multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The police also arrived at the scene. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by law enforcement agencies. The reason for the fight is not yet clear. It has been suggested that this incident was caused by some girl.

At least, last year's high-profile conflict with shooting, which incidentally also happened in mid-June, was caused precisely by this. Then, on the night of June 14-15, in the restaurant of the Pitsunda boarding house “Samshitovaya Grove”, a man began firing a pistol at vacationers. The attacker turned out to be a 42-year-old citizen of Abkhazia, and the reason for the attack was that he failed to meet two tourists. Having received another refusal, a local resident opened fire. Fellow tourists who caused the incident were taken to a Sochi hospital with bullet wounds.

Interestingly, the boarding house management then added that a group of tourists more than once attracted the attention of the boarding house staff and other vacationers, who even called security to calm down the noisy neighbors. She also urged “not to escalate the situation around the incident” and announced the strengthening of security and security measures at the hotel. Also, after this incident, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, Dmitry Dbar, outlined the course for strengthening security measures at Abkhazian resorts. Read the details here.
