Before the start of the summer season, the Turkish authorities initiated the demolition of berths in the picturesque province of Mugla, where such popular resorts as Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Dalaman and Capucargine. Most of the piers are in front of the hotels and are exclusively designed to serve tourists.
According to Turkish media, most of the buildings have been declared illegal by the authorities. It is specified that a total of 400 illegal berths will be liquidated, and about 200 of them are located in Gocek bays. Unauthorized piers in the village of Ortakent (Bodrum) have already been demolished, it continues in Turkbuku – a city located opposite Bodrum, in the village of Sögyut in Marmaris is about to end, after which the turn of the village of Selimiye and Bozburun (Marmaris) will come. Officials did not ignore the famous resorts of Fethiye, Dalaman and Kapukargin – they are also preparing for demolition.
