Erdogan made a statement on the wearing of masks in Turkey

By the beginning of the tourist season, Turkey can almost completely say goodbye to the “mask regime”. Wearing a mask, “which has been a part of our lives for about two years”, is no longer necessary in most enclosed spaces.

The statement, we note, was made at the highest level – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after the meeting Science Council. “I think we should take off our masks. For now, we are canceling this decision,” the president said.

“Due to the fact that the epidemic has ceased to be a mass threat, European countries have lifted their restrictions. I believe that our country has reached this stage,” the President said. True, we are talking about the abolition of the obligation to use masks indoors, which was used in various volumes for about three years – it has been completely removed.

However, tourists should be warned: the mask regime remains in public transport. The restriction will continue for “some more time.” Deadlines are not specified.
