The European Union recommends abolishing the mandatory wearing of masks on planes and airports from next week.
“The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) have issued updating security measures for air travel, which makes it possible to reduce the need to wear medical masks on board the aircraft “,” Interfax quotes a joint statement from the two departments.
This decision was made in connection with the increase in the level of vaccination and immunity, acquired naturally, as well as the concomitant lifting of restrictions in most European countries.
The innovation will come into force on May 16. At the same time, airlines themselves have the right to decide how and when to modify the rules on flights. So, in accordance with the recommendations, if the flight passes to a country that requires the wearing of masks, masks on board the aircraft should be encouraged.
