Tourists flooded into Hurghada: a record number of flights arrived at the resort

Airport resorts in the Egyptian Red Sea province recorded another record day. Last weekend, dozens of regular and charter flights from various European airports arrived in Hurghada every day. In first place were flights from Germany. Marsa Alam International Airport also recorded an increase in scheduled and charter flights from various European airports on Sunday for the first time in a long time.

Note that the Egyptian media separately report that a number of Russian travel companies continued to resume flights to the resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh after a stop due to air sanctions. Recall that we are talking about flights of the Biblio Globus tour operator, flying since the beginning of April, as well as flights to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada airports from Moscow on Egypt Air flights of the Fun & Sun tour operator (former TUI Russia) – in fact charter, so as a tour operator completely takes all the seats on the flight. “The airline is Egyptian and sanctions do not apply to these aircraft,” Egyptian sources note separately.

Flights will start on April 28 from Moscow to the airports of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, daily from Domodedovo. They will be operated by Airbus 330 aircraft. Read more in the article “The Russians were told through whom they can go to Egypt for the May holidays.”

Also, as the Egyptian media record, domestic tourism is added to foreign tourism – thousands of Egyptians celebrate Sham el Nessim (public holiday of spring) by going to resorts, also mainly to the beaches of Hurghada – for the first time in two years after the pandemic.

As a result, the rush demand even led the Marine Rescue Society to strengthen rescue patrols on all beaches. Ambulances are also on duty from the community on highways.

At the same time, the increase in local tourists will be even stronger, as another major holiday is ahead. Eid-al-Fitr (aka Uraza-Bayram), this year coincides with the beginning of the May holidays. As a result, hotels in Egypt expect a minimum of 75% occupancy.
