When traveling to other countries, it is always interesting to know how the most banal and familiar things look there. Here, take at least a pharmacy: well, what could be interesting there? They are in any country, because people everywhere tend to get sick from time to time.
With such a mood, I decided to go in with one eye to look at a pharmacy in Zurich, Switzerland and did not fail: their pharmacy is really very different from those we are used to.
Let's start with the look. From the inside, the pharmacy looks more like a fashion boutique or a beauty salon. A bright, air-conditioned room with a fresh renovation, there is not a speck on the floor, the shop windows are neatly lined up along the walls.
But the most interesting thing is not even in appearance , but what is sold in Swiss pharmacies…
"Well, what else can they sell there? Medicines, of course!" – you say. And yes, they sell drugs there too. I say “too” because the lion's share of the space is occupied by beauty and personal care products, and quite expensive.
I don't know much about makeup brands, but I'm guessing a cream for 220 francs (13,500 rubles) would be pretty good. To me the brand name "Valmont" does not say anything, but for sure the fair sex has heard about this and, perhaps, even used it.
Or shower gel for 2000 rubles. It’s also probably not easy, since they ask for that kind of money for it.
In short, the Swiss pharmacy has everything for body care, hair, skin and anything else, except, in fact, medicines. Here you can find any shaving foam, any lotion or shower gel, any cream for mimic wrinkles, but it is with medicines that the problem is.
Not that they don't exist at all, but at least they're all hidden. There is only one small display case in plain sight with aspirin, back pain ointments, and hygienic.
More serious drugs, of course, are also available, but they are sold by prescription, and therefore are not put on public display. If you have a prescription, you go to the pharmacist, and he gets you the right drug. If not, take shaving cream and chapstick…
