In May, the increase in the flow of tourists from Russia to Antalya amounted to 73.8%

In May 2023, the increase in Russian tourist flow to Antalya (Turkey) amounted to 73.8% compared to the same month in 2022.

Total tourist flow to Antalya reached 1,593,935 in May, exceeding the combined figures of May 2021 and May 2022. The Russian tourist flow amounted to 389,805 tourists, which is 73.8% more than in May 2022 (approximately 224 thousand visits) and 51.6% less than in May 2019 (805 thousand). This is reported by ATOR with reference to the governorship of Antalya.

The share of Russians among all foreigners in Antalya in May 2023 was 24.4%. This is less than the results of 5 months (24.9%). The Turkish media cited as reasons for the low tourist flow in May:

• the factor of the ambiguity of the outcome of the presidential elections in Turkey;
• too high prices set by many Antalya hoteliers;

< li> the growth of the dollar against the ruble in April;

• the range of foreign summer beach destinations for Russians has significantly expanded compared to 2022.
