In Thailand, worried about the uncertainty with the arrival of Russian tourists

Thailand is worried about the ambiguity with the arrival of Russian tourists

The news that from April 9, on Saturday, Russia resumes air traffic, stirred up world tourism. In particular, the authorities of Thailand declared their full readiness to meet Russian travelers, as they were included in the list of 52 “friendly” countries of the Russian Federation. However, on the eve of Day X, the Thai authorities were even more worried because of the ambiguity, because. making an announcement about the start of flights does not mean flying right away, Thai media noted. According to experts, airliners from Russia to heavenly resorts are unlikely to fly in the near future because of the fear of being immediately arrested. Therefore, Russian tourists are now content only with Turkey and Egypt, and then in most cases on the Superjet 100 that fly from Sochi.

Given the current situation with ongoing developments in Ukraine, Prime Minister Mishustin's “happy” press release for Thai tourism on the resumption of flights “due to the lifting of coronavirus restrictions” will probably mean nothing but some “feeling good” and feeling hopes, the publications reasoned. The problem lies in a long line of lessors who lined up waiting for the leased Russian aircraft to leave domestic airspace in order to arrest them if the opportunity arises.

Recall that the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation said that from 9 April, measures to combat covid, which limited flights to a number of countries, are canceled.
