There won't be enough for everyone: Russians were warned about the shortage of places in hotels in Turkey, giving the reason and timing

Russian tourists may not have enough places in hotels in Turkey for the high season. Such a warning was voiced to Izvestia by the general director of the Xanadu Resort Taryk Kyrankaya. The hotel, by the way, is an exclusive “Koral”. The assessment of this expert was partly confirmed by other tour operators. The main reason is the accelerating demand for popular resorts in Turkey from European tourists.

“Most of the guests are from Russia, they account for 20%. The forecast for this year on loading by Russians is 25-30%, which is slightly lower than the usual volume of 40%,” the Turkish expert noted. But now Turkey is recording an increase in demand from those countries for which Turkey was “closed for covid” in 2021. First of all, these are such large markets as German and British, as well as the Netherlands, Poland and the Baltic states. “Besides, this year the pent-up demand for large congress events from all over Europe will work,” Turkey is sure.

This assessment is supported by the forecasts of the outbound tourism director of the Intourist tour operator Ismail Bolyukbashi. “In July and August, the occupancy of hotels on the Mediterranean coast and Aegean resorts will reach 90-95%. This figure corresponds to the pre-pandemic level. However, for a number of popular hotels, a place may already appear by mid-July,” the expert estimated.
