Turkey has published statistics of tourist arrivals for 7 months of 2022. According to the data, Russia ranked second with 2.197 million visits.
According to ATOR, citing statistics, in just the first 7 months of this year, 23 million international visits were recorded in Turkey, which is 2.3 times more than in the same period in 2021.
The TOP-5 leading countries in terms of inbound tourist flow to Turkey were distributed as follows:
- Germany – 2.992 million visits;
- Russia – 2.197 million;
- UK 1.8 million;
- Bulgaria 1.44 million;
- Iran 1.28 million
The share of the Russian market in Turkey's inbound tourism decreased from 15.41% to 9.54%. At the same time, the German market added only 0.49%, taking first place with a share of 12.99% of the total foreign flow. The share of Great Britain was 7.86%, Bulgaria – 6.25% (+1.4%), Iran – 5.55% (+1.27%).
It is also known that Russia took second place among the countries that sent the largest number of tourists in July: 741 thousand. Germany was in first place: 962 thousand. The TOP-5 also included the UK (545 thousand), The Netherlands (266 thousand) and Bulgaria (251 thousand). In total, there were more than 6.6 million tourist arrivals in July.
