Russian aircraft received airworthiness certificates

The Federal Air Transport Agency and its territorial departments have completed the main stage of issuing airworthiness certificates for aircraft of Russian airlines previously registered in the registers of foreign states. The work was carried out in order to ensure the smooth functioning of the air transport industry and comply with the requirements of the air legislation of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the press service of the department.

Russian aircraft received airworthiness certificates

In total, from September 2022 until the end of this year, in accordance with the inspection control plan, it was required to assess the airworthiness of about 600 foreign-made aircraft operated by domestic operators and previously registered in the registers of foreign states.

Today, this work is almost completed. More than 90% of the total number of aircraft previously registered in the registries of foreign states have passed inspection checks and received airworthiness certificates.

Part of the aircraft of Russian airlines is under repair or regular maintenance. Such aircraft will subsequently be inspected for their compliance with airworthiness requirements. Accordingly, after obtaining airworthiness certificates, they can be used by airlines to perform flights.

Currently, the number of aircraft with airworthiness certificates is sufficient for Russian airlines to carry out safe air transportation in accordance with the declared flight programs.

Recall that the airworthiness certificates were issued in accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 353 “On the specifics of licensing activities in the Russian Federation in 2022 and 2023” and the requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations “Requirements for the airworthiness of civil aircraft. Form and procedure for issuing a certificate of airworthiness of a civil aircraft. The procedure for suspension and cancellation of the certificate of airworthiness of a civil aircraft”, approved by order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia dated November 27, 2020 No. 519.
