At Antalya airport, tourists filmed a tragic spectacle on their mobile phones. The tourist, according to the newspaper Haber Global, a Russian, tried to commit suicide right at the airport, in front of other passengers.
According to the publication, the incident occurred at noon in terminal number 2 of the international lines of Antalya airport. A Russian citizen who arrived at the airport climbed to the second floor, climbed onto the iron railing of the fence, put a wire around his neck and stepped from the parapet.
The tourist, however, failed to fulfill his intention, since the airport security services were mobilized instantly. The airport staff opened the airbag to prevent the Russian tourist from falling, and the duty officer climbed a portable ladder and cut the wire, on which the tourist's body was already bobbing. As a result, a Russian tourist with a cut wire around his neck fell into an airbag and was rescued at the last moment.
The tourist was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
