< /p> Approximately 100 Russian tourists fell under the “sanctions strike”. They will be forced to spend part of their vacation in Tehran, and not on the Caribbean island of Margarita, as planned. The reason is the technical problems of the Conviasa aircraft, as well as air sanctions, and not only on Russia.
The incident happened on Monday evening. About 100 tourists flew to the Venezuelan island of Margarita by a Venezuelan carrier. However, during a technical landing in Thailand, problems were found with the Conviasa liner.
Venezuela was ready to send a spare plane for tourists – but then the “sanctions trap” came into play. The flight of the liner was not agreed upon by “unfriendly countries”. At the same time, all three countries are under sanctions in one way or another – both Russia, Venezuela, and Iran.
At the moment, all tourists promptly received permission to enter Iran and are accommodated in hotels. “Currently, tourists are accommodated in Rexan and Remis hotels – everyone will be provided with everything necessary. Tomorrow, Russians will be issued with full-fledged visas for a comfortable stay in Iran while waiting for departure,” Zarina Doguzova, head of the Federal Tourism Agency, wrote in her Telegram channel.
However, the problem is that in fact tourists will be able to fly only on the same the plane on which they arrived in Tehran, i.e. they will have to wait until the liner is repaired. So the period for which tourists are stuck in Iran is still unknown.
