Sri Lanka expects to recognize the Russian payment system Mir this year. This was stated during a working trip to Yekaterinburg by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, Professor Janita Abeivikrema Liyanage.
“We are working on getting the Mir card to join to those cards that can be actively used upon arrival in our country. This issue has been resolved. This year it will start working,” she said, TASS reports.
At the same time, as the diplomat emphasized, payment in rubles is already available on Sri Lankan airlines.
