Jávea is a beach in eastern Spain, where thousands of tourists from other European countries used to come, incl. Russia and Ukraine. This direction of tourism was considered elite: holidays here were not cheap because of the azure water, snow-white beaches and a high level of service.
But now the beach is almost empty. Red flags are raised everywhere. However, as journalists write, tourists don’t need to explain anything without them: a terrible smell reigns everywhere, and sand is mixed with excrement, waste and toilet paper.
The cause of the emergency was algae that clogged the sewer. Now specialists are hastily trying to replace about 250 meters of the sewer pipe.
