The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) does not exclude the possibility of resuming the 45-day visa-free regime.
“To be honest, we were also a little upset when the easing in the form of an increased visa-free period was not extended at the end of March stay of tourists – 45 days. In Thailand, the government was changing at that moment. As soon as the new government fully assumes its rights, TAT, for its part, will turn to it with a request to continue the practice of a 45-day visa-free regime, ”, TAT executive director Tirasin Tapen told ATOR.
A TAT representative also said that until the end of 2023, flights of Thai carriers to Russia should not be expected, and stressed that Thailand is open to all Russian air carriers.
“As for the timing of the introduction of the new fee, they are still not exactly defined. Initially, the launch was scheduled for September. But it will probably be shifted a little”, Tirasin Tapen commented on the introduction of a resort fee of 300 baht. It is planned that the tax will include the cost of the air ticket.
