The 5th Festival “The Art of Living in the Country” will be dedicated to the theme “Country Fiction”

The anniversary festival will take place on September 10 in the village of Okhotino, Pereslavsky district, Yaroslavl region. It is traditionally dedicated to the art of the early 20th century and the traditions of country life and takes place in places chosen by friends – the great Russian bass Fyodor Chaliapin and the first Russian impressionist Konstantin Korovin.

Theme  This year's festival will be “Country Fiction, or the Art of Reading in the Country”. Konstantin Korovin was not only a wonderful artist, but also a writer with a wonderful sense of humor. Most of his stories are about life in Okhotin.

– The festival helps to learn more about the history of these places and the lives of great people and draws attention to the preservation of Konstantin Korovin's dacha in Okhotin, which today needs funds for restoration, – said the author and organizer of the event, Natalya Bulakh.

Theatrical performances, plein air in the belle epoque style, concerts, tours of the artist's dacha and Korovin's places are waiting for the guests of the holiday. There will be meetings with writers, illustrators and publishers of books and magazines.
During the festival, the interiors of Konstantin Korovin's dacha will become a kind of studio for photo shoots. Recall that Konstantin Korovin and his guests liked to be photographed in Okhotino and its environs. Yaroslavl Regional Library. Nekrasova will offer guests reading about suburban life of the late 19th – early 20th century, a game of rare words and a master class on making a bookmark.

The painting “Girl with a guitar” – one of the most recognizable images in the paintings of Konstantin Korovin, written in Okhotin. Therefore, romances performed by Anastasia Suslova will sound especially sincere on the stage of the festival.
On the central stage of the festival, a win-win lottery will be held in favor of the Korovin house, a partner of which was the Yaroslavl Art Museum, which provided prizes to the participants. Guests will be offered a dacha vaudeville based on Korovin's story “Medium”.
