The main attraction of Paris will be left without illumination to save money

Paris Mayor's Office announced that the illumination of the city's main attraction should be reduced to save energy in prices.

This year, due to the conflict in Ukraine and the end of the pandemic, energy prices have risen sharply in Europe. Electricity is getting more expensive, so Europeans are trying to save it as much as possible.

The queue has reached the symbol of Paris, France and all of Europe – the famous Eiffel Tower. Now it is illuminated for 4-5 hours from sunset (20:00-21:00) to 01:00. The tower has a complex system of 336 spotlights and 20,000 light bulbs that give it that golden glow.
