Turkish tourism media have presented yet another optimistic forecast: the number of Russians who will leave for Turkey this summer has been announced. And it is expected to reach as much as 6 million, which is a lot, especially given the problems with aircraft due to air sanctions. This is stated by the Turkish edition Turizmguncel with reference to the Russian Izvestia.
In particular, it is reported that Russia and Turkey agreed this summer to increase the number of flights between the two countries by 50%. As a result, the number of weekly flights between Russia and Turkey will reach 1200. We are talking about the period from July to August – at this time 1200 flights per week will be operated. At the same time, last summer the number of flights between the two countries increased to 750-850 per week. At the same time, Russian airlines organize 750 flights, and Turkish ones – 400 flights.
Aeroflot was named among the Russian carriers, which will operate flights to Istanbul, Antalya, as well as Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir. Also, flights to Turkish resorts from Russian air carriers will be Rossiya, Pobeda, S7, Utair, Azimut and Red Wings. At the same time, experts expect that with an increase in the number of flights, airfare prices will decrease. They refer to OneTwoTrip data, the cost of round-trip airfare between Russia and Turkey in the spring-summer season will be 47.4% lower than last year.
Also, Turkish media cite the following optimistic forecast. In an interview with Izvestia, Turkey’s tourism attache in Moscow, Ilker Ozkan, said that this year they are preparing to receive 6 million Russian tourists.
