A group of journalists, bloggers and travel agents organized an advertising and information tour to Antalya on March 31 to get first-hand information about the country's resorts, get acquainted with the hotel base, excursion program and local culture. As part of the trip, experts inspected tourist sites and drew some conclusions.
Thus, according to the Dutch product manager of the TUI group, which set a goal of bringing 1.5 million passengers to Turkey by 2022, Turkish hoteliers will acutely feel a shortage of tourists from Russia and Ukraine against the backdrop of the ongoing special operation: 9.5 million vacationers who previously arrived at the resorts is a considerable figure. Now the hotel business will “fight” in a price war for the opportunity to survive without the Russian-Ukrainian tourist flow.
TUI does not depend on Russian tourists, because operates on the European market, said Manfred Gaaga and explained his position: “Hotels that hold on to the Russian and Ukrainian markets are forced to reduce prices. This means that other hotels will lower them to stay competitive. The fall in hotel prices will affect transport costs, holidays in Turkey will become cheaper.”
